John Thompson and Jeff Oberman each spoke at the May 2012 Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute, co-sponsored by Minnesota CLE, the Minnesota State Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section, and the Twin Cities Human Resource Association. This year’s Employment Law Institute was held on May 21 & 22, 2012, at the St. Paul RiverCentre.

John co-presented a session entitled “Recognizing and Responding to Federal Whistleblower Complaints,” which discussed federal whistleblower laws and the protections they provide.  Jeff presented on “Hiring an Employee With a Non-Compete Agreement – Including the Latest Cases, Trends, Traps and Strategies.”  In his session, Jeff discussed the legal risks and decisions that need to be made when an employer wants to hire an employee with a non-compete agreement.

This year’s Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute was, as usual, a wonderful event and a big success.  For further information about this year’s Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute, please click this link: 2012 Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute
